CHR statement of support in protest against the conditions of humanitarian and social disciplines

We would like to express our full agreement and support for the planned protest in defense of the humanities and social sciences in our universities. We believe that it is imperative to fight to maintain quality education and decent working conditions for teachers in these disciplines. It is unacceptable that these disciplines are underfunded and not given the political recognition they need. We would therefore like to call on all our colleagues, students, friends and supporters to join the planned protest and support humanities and social sciences educators, or the entire academic community, in their fight for decent pay and quality education.
