Invitation to a workshop on Human Rights in the European Constitutional Order 🇪🇺

The Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, Charles University, cordially invites you to a special public workshop as part of the course Human Rights in the European Constitutional Order: Jean Monnet Module, to be held at the Faculty of Law on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM in room 303.

Several students from the Faculty of Law will present their essays addressing current issues in human rights protection within the context of EU law.

You can look forward to the following presentations:

  • Georgia Hejduková with a talk titled The European Project Was Always About Human Rights,

  • Markéta Macáková with The EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights: A Landmark or the Peak in Human Rights Protection?,

  • Tomáš Kaňka with Evaluating the Draft Revised Agreement on the Accession of the EU,

  • Sára Eva Rujbr with Internal Mechanisms of the EU in the Area of Protecting LGBTQ+ Rights,

  • and finally, Václav Lipš and Marek Švajda with A Delicate Balance: How to Resolve Conflicts Between Individualistic and Communitarian Dignity.

Following the presentations, there will be an open discussion in which all workshop participants are encouraged to engage.
