The Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights, in collaboration with organization Prague Pride, is offering a new course for the public, “Prohibition of Discrimination and Equal Treatment with a Focus on LGBT+ Persons,” as part of the European project StandUP4LGBTIQ.
The course provides a detailed overview of equality and the prohibition of discrimination, with an emphasis on the specifics of protecting LGBTQ+ persons. Lectures will be led by experts from the Faculty of Law, Charles University, who will introduce participants to the legal framework of protection against discrimination. They will also share their experiences with handling practical legal cases in this area.
Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of equality, the prohibition of discrimination, and the ways to apply these principles in court. They will learn about specific cases that will help them better understand the issue and broaden their knowledge needed for providing legal advice in this field.
The course is intended for those practicing law, especially in advocacy or the non-profit sector, but also for others interested in minority rights. The course capacity is limited and filling up quickly, so early registration is recommended. Participation in the course is free of charge.
