Public lecture on the Topic Methodology of Constitutional and Political Science in the Study of Authoritarian Regimes

Writer: CHRCHR

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, a public lecture titled Methodology of Constitutional and Political Science in the Study of Authoritarian Regimes was held at the Faculty of Law, led by prof. Helena Hofmannová and supported by the OP JAK project. The lecture focused primarily on developmental trends in the study of democratic transformations since the 1990s, their impact on constitutional law, and the evolution of political systems. Prof. Hofmannová addressed key issues including the global crisis of democracy, the relevance of democracy subtypes, and the so-called trichotomy of political regimes. The lecture provided a deep insight into current research trends and their implications for contemporary constitutional theory and political systems.

The subsequent discussion was very constructive and engaging, covering political developments on both national and European levels, current trends in political science research, and potential future developments. The discussion also touched on how these trends might influence future research and political strategies.

We thank all participants for their valuable contributions and active engagement in the lecture. We look forward to future meetings!
