This document contains 14 recommendations, which the students of the PF UK presented in the presence of guests from the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, as well as experts on the topic, such as Mgr. Ondřej Klimeš, Ph.D. from the Oriental Institute of the CAS. The addressees of the individual recommendations are public authorities not only at the level of the government or the Chamber of Deputies, but also, for example, the Czech Republic's representation on missions within supranational organisations such as the United Nations. This fact enabled the students to include in the recommendations a diverse range of possible steps and measures that could contribute to the improvement of the human rights situation of Uyghurs in China with varying degrees of binding force, and the implementation of all recommendations would thus be reflected in the sphere of hard-law (e.g. restriction of trade of Czech companies with the People's Republic of China, especially in the field of military equipment) and soft-law (e.g. declaratory condemnation of genocide on the floor of the chambers of Parliament and the UN).
The whole series of events is carried out in cooperation with the Forum for Human Rights, of which the moderator of the round table, Iveta Vancáková, was also a member.
We believe that the event was not only beneficial for the students, but also really inspired the politicians present to take possible action, which is underlined by the fact that the presentation of the recommendations will be followed by a meeting with students on this topic in September in the Senate under the auspices of the Vice President of the Senate Jiří Oberfalzer, and we thank all the participating students for their efforts and enthusiasm for improving the situation of the Uyghur minority.
