Statement on ideological violence against LGBT+ in Bratislava

The Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights expresses its regret for the loss of two human lives and its sincere condolences to the bereaved victims of Wednesday's ideological violence in Bratislava. Any manifestation of intolerance towards vulnerable groups is completely inconsistent with tolerance and pluralism as fundamental principles of a democratic state governed by the rule of law. Therefore, we also express our solidarity with the LGBT+ community, which represents a valuable and inseparable part of our society. In this context, we call, in particular, on the political representation to speak out unequivocally against ideologically motivated violence, as well as against manifestations of intolerance towards LGBT+ people, which are the breeding ground of radicalisation.
